Welcome to Building Synergy, where we turn your dreams into reality. Founded in 2009, our mission is to be the best home construction company in Oakland, serving the community we hold dear. Carlos Veliz, the heart and soul behind Building Synergy, possesses a unique talent for spotting potential where others may not. His unwavering passion for creativity and design equips him to tackle the most demanding home renovation and construction projects.

Carlos’s journey began in property management, where he quickly noticed a common problem in many homes: a lack of thoughtful design, practicality, and numerous mistakes. These homes lacked structural integrity and aesthetic appeal. It stirred something in him—a desire to make a difference. His commitment to addressing these issues and assisting the community led him to focus on construction, design, and home renovation. In his words, “It bothered me because I knew I could offer a quality and communication that is currently lacking in the field.”

With over 30 years of experience in construction and home renovation, Carlos and his team have worked on countless projects throughout California. Their dedication to providing quality service is evident through the numerous satisfied clients who continue to turn to Building Synergy for their renovation needs.

Carlos Veliz

Carlos Veliz has over 25 years of construction experience. For 12 years, he worked as a Portfolio and Asset Manager supervising tenant improvement projects in Los Angeles.

Carlos Veliz has over 25 years of construction experience. For 12 years, he worked as a Portfolio and Asset Manager supervising tenant improvement projects in Los Angeles. In 2013, Carlos started his construction company, named City Construction, doing apartment renovations in Oakland. After several years of working with investors, Carlos decided to concentrate more on property management. That’s when he decided to open Prime Property Management, providing great service to homeowners and tenants alike. Growing at such a fast rate, Carlos started a new company to work alongside PPM – Harmony Property Maintenance, DBA Building Synergy. It opened its doors in 2019 to provide maintenance to more than 2,000 rental units in the Bay Area.

Carlos’ most recent venture is Anchor Real Estate Investment, which builds multifamily units throughout the Bay area and Sacramento. This wouldn’t be possible without the contracting help from Building Synergy. With Carlos’ guidance, these companies will become the leading contracting business in the multifamily construction industry.

She wants her customers to get the best service and be 100% comfortable throughout the entire process. To do that, she brought the best in the business under one roof.

Our span of services extends within a 50-mile radius of the Oakland area. As a nimble team, we can adapt to the changing schedules of Bay Area professionals. With a profound understanding of the expansive Bay Area, we’ve remodeled nearly every floor plan you’ll find here. This knowledge enables us to identify what works in Bay Area homes. Chances are, we have a reference from someone with a similar floor plan and challenges as yours, for whom we’ve completed the same project.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Giving back to the community that supports us is a fundamental belief in our family. Building Synergy is well-known throughout the community for our annual support of events such as the Mayor’s Toy Drive, Oakland’s Running for a Cause, Dias de las Muertos Festival, and the YMCA, among many others.

Moreover, several of our team members actively participate in local real estate development planning committees and serve as advisory members to the City Council.

In 2011, we initiated one of the city’s only “annual give back” charity events. During the Thanksgiving season, Team Building Synergy dedicates a weekend to distributing Thanksgiving dinners to underserved communities.
